Sup bro brahs and shreddets!
Sorry, I don't have any recent pics to share, but I can give you the scoop on whats happening around here.
The mountain opened a few weeks ago with excellent opening day snow. This was the first year that Horseshoe Bowl was rideable on opening day. One of the terrain parks is open, as well as most of peaks 8 and 9. This weekend Breckenridge officially started running the highest lift in North America with the Imperial Lift, and it is COLD AS SHIT around here. I guess that's the price you pay to live at 9600 ft.
This is shot of peak 9. Check the date, Oct 12, early season coverage, gotta love it.
Here's a glimpse of the summer happenings:
This is at about 12,000 ft looking down at Dillon reservoir. We started the ride in town, summited peak 5 at 12,500 ft, then ran smack dab into a nasty T-storm that we couldn't see from our side of the peaks range. Huddled in a bush above treeline, getting pounded by hail, and lightning crashing down all around us was not pleasant. One of the guys I was with vowed to never ride a mountain bike again. So far he's stayed true to his word. The view of town from the summit.
